A quick THANK YOU!! to the over 1,000 great clients that we had the pleasure of serving at this past weekends NASCAR Crown Royal 400 race at Richmond as well as the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby and Oaks. We enjoyed the priviledge of accommodating our sports loving clients everything from Overnight and Day Packages to Front Stretch tickets to Millionaires Row.

All race fans, were treated to great races whether they were cheering for their favorite driver and car or their favorite throughbreed. Clint Boyer took advantage of a questionable hit on Dale Earnhardt Jr from Kyle Busch to take the victory at Richmond. Out west in Louisville, for the fourth time in 21 years the favorite had won the Kentucky Derby. Big Brown also became the second horse ever to win the most exciting 2 minutes in sports from the number 20 gate.

Packages are available for the September 6th NASCAR Chevy Rock N Roll race at Richmond which is the last race before The Chase. That is sure to be as exciting as any race of the year. We will also have packages available for the 2009 Kentucky Derby in the coming months. Whether you joined us this past weekend or are considering doing so with any of our upcoming events (NFL, Olympics, Euro Cup, Masters), we certainly thank you and look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Wow!  The Derby and Oaks are in full swing this week.  Sales really starting kicking in yesterday, and our hotel and ticket inventory is definitely getting low for both races.  Though, this has to be the year with the Cheapest Kentucky Derby Tickets and most inexpensive Kentucky Oaks tickets that I’ve ever seen.

Right now,  you can purchase Grandstand Kentucky Derby tickets starting at $250, and Clubhouse Kentucky Oaks tickets from $125 each.

We have an office set up in Louisville this year, with Mr. Kentucky Derby himself, Gary Marshall, leading the team.  Customers whom place orders this week, and don’t have time to receive their tickets via FedEx, can pick up their tickets from our conveniently located office in Louisville.

To take advantage of these limited time and extremely cheap Derby Prices, call our office at 800-888-8233 or visit us online at http://www.greatatlantictravel.com

This weekend’s NFL Draft is going to be the kickoff to a very exiting 2008 NFL season. With the Dolphin’s announcement that they will take Michigan left tackle Jake Long as the No. 1 overall draft pick, there still remains a great deal of uncertainty regarding where the rest of this year’s NFL freshman class will head. With such players as LSU’s JaMarcus Russell, Georgia Tech’s Calvin Johnson,   and Virginia’s Chris Long still up for grabs this year’s NFL Draft could prove to be very exciting especially with such teams as the Falcons, Ravens, and Eagles looking to have very competitive 2008 seasons.

With that being said, Great Atlantic Travel is here to help you get the very best tickets and packages for this year’s NFL season. With endless ticket and package combinations we can help you see your favorite team compete up-close for the best possible price.

Check out our 2008 Redskin packages as they have one of the best 2008 schedules of any NFL team which will no doubt lead to some of this year’s best action.

The NFL has released the 2008 NFL schedule, and all Redskins games are available at this time. Ticket only prices will be available by the end of the week. Tickets and packages are on sale for Washington Redskins home games against the New Orleans Saints on September 14, Arizona Cardinals on September 21, St. Louis Rams on October 12, Cleveland Browns on October 19, Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 3, archrival Dallas Cowboys on November 16, Super Bowl Champion New York Giants on November 30, and division rival Philadelphia Eagles on December 21.

The Redskins have an excellent schedule for fans as it offers a great choice of games throughout the year. If you are not into the cold weather then you can see early games such as the home opener against the New Orleans Saints or a rematch of one of last years close games against the Cardinals. October is great since the weather is not too hot or too cold. See the Redskins take on the St. Louis Rams or Cleveland Browns as the fall season arrives. November will bring 3 of the NFL’s toughest and most popular teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers who are making their first regular season appearence in DC since 1988, reigning NFC East champion and hated rivals the Dallas Cowboys a nationaly televised game on Sunday night, as well as the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. November will certainly be a defining moment for the Washington Redskins 2008 season. The Redskins will play at FedEx Field once in December and that will be on December 21st against the Philadelphia Eagles which would make an excellent early Christmas gift.

These games as well as Redskins Hall of Fame Game and preseason games are now available. Also, tickets and packages will soon be available for the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles,  Pittsburgh Steelers, and all other NFL teams. Please check back or call for information. All rates are subject to change and based on availability so early reservations are strongly suggested.

We are officialy 5 months away from the 2008 NFL season. The NFL whould release the regular season schedule within the next two weeks. Advanced prices are available for all Washington Redskins home games against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, St Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, and the World Champion New York Giants. Packages and tickets will also be available for the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

A recent magazine had a Turkey Sports Poll which quizzed over 800 sports executives on what is the most prestigious sporting event. Winning the poll with just under 42% was non other than the Masters at Augusta. The Super Bowl came next with 35% followed by the World Series, Final Four, and the Kentucky Derby. Pretty interesting. We have great packages available for these and all other domestic and international events. However I must object because in my personal experience, these great sporting events fall closely behind the international flare of the world’s most popular tournament the FIFA World Cup as well as the Summer and Winter Olympics. Either Way Great Atlantic Travel is your ticket to see these prestigious sporting events live and in person!

This past weekends exciting race at Martinsville has made the upcoming Crown Royal 400 race at Richmond a more demanding ticket. Great seats and packages still remain for the spring race at America’s Premiere Short track which is the only race track on the Sprint Cup that is a 3 quarter mile. Be one of the over 112,000 lucky spectators that will enjoy side to side, exciting action and choose your seat such as in the Dogwood, Colonial, Commonwealth, and front stretch sections and include them in the package of your choice such as a Day Trip that include motorcoach transportation from Norfolk and Newport News and tailgate party, or Overnight Package that includes hotel and track transfers, or just a ticket only package.

Richmond native Denny Hamlin won at Martinsville this past weekend and will try to do the same at his home track. Hamlin will try to hold off the winner of the last three Richmond races Jimmy Johnson, as well as track favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr who’s last victory came in this race in May of 2006.

Keep in mind: if the May Richmond race doesn’t work well into your schedule, then the same great tickets and packages are still available for the last race before the chase, the Chevy Rock N Roll 400 on September 6, 2008.

Well it will be upon us very soon as the elite 8 will be decided this weekend. NCAA basketball is one of the most fun things to watch, especially if you have your teams picked out in brackets. My final 4 picks are Tennessee, Memphis, Texas, and UCLA. I realize that North Carolina has been unstoppable so it will be nearly impossible for Tennessee to beat UNC. First games tomorrow night will be great fun to watch, and Im sure will be real nail biters. At Great  Atlantic Travel we have tickets to every NCAA game left, including the NCAA championship game in San Antonio. I have the championship game predicted as Tennessee vs. Texas, a pretty risky pick as Tennessee has been barely squeaking all of the teams, but Im always in for the underdogs, and with the way UNC has been playing everyone is an underdog.

Well Tiger Wood’s impresssive winning streak has come to an end. Tiger suffered his first defeat since September 3rd, thats six months ago. The four time Masters Champion finished behind tournament winner Geoff Ogilvy, talented Retief Goosen, 2000 Masters Champion Vijay Singh, and crowd pleaser Jim Furyk. Even through defeat it was obvious that all that was on his mind was to not only win the upcoming 2008 Masters, but sweep all four majors. Tiger will get his chance to accomplish this amazing feat he can start by winning his fifth Masters green jacket. However, judging by this weekend’s past tournament his competition has made it clear that the 2008 Masters will not be a walk in the park for Tiger. Of course you can never count out Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, or 2007 dark horse champion Zach Johnson.

Don’t be left out of the excitement! Limited number of Badges and tickets as well as packages are still available for all practice rounds and tournament days. You may witness Tiger pass legend Arnold Palmer for second place on the all time Masters victories list with 5, or you may see an upset where a new person such as last year’s Zach Johnson comes out of nowhere to put his name in the history books. Theres no better place to see history in the making than right in front of you at the world most famous golf course and tournament!

The Redskins will host two AFC North powerhouses the Super Bowl XL Champions  Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns coming off a 10-6 record in 2007. Also coming to the loudest, and biggest stadium in the league in 2008 is the Arizona Cardinals, who lost in a thrilling game at FedEx Field last year, powerful running back Stephen Jackson and his St. Louis Rams, as well as Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, and their New Orleans Saints. Of course the Redskins will also host their rivals in the NFL’s toughest division year in and year out - the NFC East. Donovan McNabb will bring his motivated Philadelphia Eagles into town as they are coming off being the only NFC East team to miss the 2007 playoffs. The most popular game every year and one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports, the Washington Redskins will welcome back Tony Romo, T.O. and the Dallas Cowboys who suffered a bad defeat to the Redskins in the last regular season game of 2007 where the Redskins impressively made it to the Playoffs with the convincing win. The other NFC East rival are the Eli Manning led Super Bowl XLII Champion New York Giants, who always have a physical and thrilling game against the Redskins. Quite an impressive group of teams to come to FedEx Field in 2008. Don’t delay - reserve now as prices are based on availability and subject to change. $75 deposits can be made to reserve the game of your choice at the starting price. Exact dates will be released by the NFL in early to mid April.
