Well, i just found out on headlines today the Myron Cope has passed.  For anyone growing up in Pittsburgh or a die hard Steelers fan knows Myron Cope.  He was one of the greatest sports broadcasters that ever lived.  He had the screechy voice and quirky comments that everyone loved.  When watching a game on t.v. you would turn the tv volume off and put the radio on, and listen to Tunch and Cope.   Even if the game was not good you always had a good laugh listening to this pair.  Good bye Myron Cope, you will be missed.  Long live your legend of greatness in Pittsburgh. Yoi, Double Yoi!

So the clock is ticking and my wifes belly is too. We have a little less than a week left until our projected due date, pretty emotional and scary time for both of us. The main concern in my head right now is I HOPE SHES A REDSKINS FAN!!!!! No but seriously we are very excited about having our little girl sometime very soon it will be happening, and being that her grandfather is a die hard steelers fan I cant help but say the steelers garb that has already been given to the little one is too much. I will let her pick her favorite team however there will be much coaxing not to follow in her grandfathers likes, at least in NFL football. I may be writing alot more of these blogs in the next couple of weeks, or while I am waiting around in the delivery room for Baby Sadie to appear.

Ahh, being a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, yes it is sad but true ; which makes todays headline about Bonds finally feel like we have recieved justice. Barry Bonds is a free agent and will not go back to the San Francisco Giants this year.  Other teams are looking at him but afraid to sign him because he is a cancer to  MLB.  He is not just a typical name on the Mitchel List.  He is a name who everyone suspects that he has taken enhancement drugs.  Only the 08 season will determine where he will be for playing.  Maybe,  just maybe his career is done.  It is a shame that baseball players cannot be who they were back in the days and just play and perform like Bill Mazeroski or other greats in Baseball.

Its early in the 2008 golf season, yet everybody is already giving the season and the four majors to Tiger Woods. After the way Tiger has started I can’t blame them. However, Tiger may face a very familiar challenge in none other than Phil Mickelson. Although Mickelson didn’t dominate this past weekend at Riviera, he was impressive in getting his first win of the year. Sure Tiger took the week off again, but who other than Mickelson can you say would be a threat to Tiger this year. So far it has been an interesting start to the season, but it is shaping up to be a great year as we have had several calls come in for the 2008 Masters on AprilI 8-13 from eager golf fans looking  to see if the competition will heat up at the Masters. Last evening while sitting down to dinner i heard of the prank that was held on Phillies catcher Kyle Kendrick.  It was a good laugh to see Kyle Kendrick’s face when they gave him the trade papers.  This was done about 15 years ago and actually made the player tear up.  Nice to see that Kyle did not let this happen to him, he was just more shocked than ever.  Everybody needs a good laugh sometimes.
